Hayati Not Working? Charging Faults, E2 Errors and Burnt Taste

Most Hayati faults come down to four things, and three of them you can fix in a couple of minutes. Here they are in the order they are worth checking.

The device will not charge

Work through these in order — the first two account for most cases:

  1. Try a different cable and a different plug. USB-C cables fail far more often than the devices they charge, and a cable that still charges a phone can be too degraded for a small vape battery. Charge from a computer USB port or a phone charger, not a fast-charge brick.
  2. Clean the port. Pocket lint compacts into the USB-C socket and stops the connector seating. Use a dry wooden toothpick or a blast of air. Never anything metal.
  3. Leave it on charge for a full hour even if nothing lights up. A deeply discharged lithium cell can take a while before it shows any sign of life.

If it still will not charge

Being straight with you: a lithium battery that has been fully flat for weeks, or one in a device that has had liquid leak into it, is usually not recoverable. There is no safe home fix, and advice you will find about jump-starting cells or bypassing the board is genuinely dangerous with a battery this size.

If the device is within its warranty period and was bought from us, contact support@hayativapes.uk before doing anything else.

Never post a device with a swollen, hot or leaking battery. Contact us and we will arrange safe disposal. Damaged lithium cells must not go through the postal system or into household waste.

E2 error on the screen

E2 means the device cannot read the pod. It is almost never a fault with the device itself:

  1. Pull the pod off and refit it firmly until it seats.
  2. Wipe the gold contacts on both the pod and the device with a dry tissue. Condensation bridging the contacts is the single most common cause.
  3. Check the pod is the right one for your range — a pod from a different Hayati range can sit in place well enough to look right while failing to make contact.
  4. Try a second pod. If a known-good pod works, the first pod was faulty and we will replace it.

Burnt taste

Burnt taste has three distinct causes and the fix differs:

  • New pod, burnt from the first puff. The wick was dry. Fit the pod, leave it upright for five minutes, then start with short gentle draws. Once a coil has been dry-fired it does not recover.
  • Gradually got worse. The pod is near empty. Replace it.
  • Fine, then suddenly burnt. Usually chain vaping — the wick has not kept up. Put it down for ten minutes and it will often recover.

No vapour, or a weak draw

Check the airflow holes are not blocked by pocket debris, make sure the pod is fully seated, and confirm the battery has charge. If the device fires — the light comes on — but produces nothing, the pod is the problem rather than the device.

Gurgling or liquid in the mouth

Usually caused by drawing too hard. These are mouth-to-lung devices designed for a gentle, cigarette-like pull, not a sharp lung hit. Draw softer and it generally settles. If it persists, tap the pod mouthpiece-down on a tissue to clear condensation.

When to contact us

If a device or pod fails within 30 days of delivery you can reject it for a full refund under the Consumer Rights Act — see our returns page. Email support@hayativapes.uk with your order number and a short description of what it is doing. Often we can sort it without you posting anything back.

Common questions

Why is my Hayati Pro Ultra not charging?

Try a different cable and plug first — USB-C cables fail far more often than the devices they charge. Then clean the port, as pocket lint compacts into it and stops the connector seating. Leave it on charge for a full hour even if no light shows, because a deeply discharged cell can take a while to respond.

Can I fix a dead battery on a Hayati Pro Ultra?

Usually not. A lithium cell that has been fully flat for weeks, or one in a device that has had liquid leak into it, is generally not recoverable. There is no safe home fix, and advice about jump-starting cells is genuinely dangerous at this size. If the device is under warranty, contact the retailer.

What does E2 mean on a Hayati vape?

E2 means the device cannot read the pod. Refit the pod firmly, wipe the gold contacts on both pod and device with a dry tissue — condensation bridging the contacts is the most common cause — and check the pod is the right one for your range.

Why does my Hayati vape taste burnt?

If it is burnt from the first puff on a new pod, the wick was dry — let a new pod stand upright for five minutes before use. If it got gradually worse, the pod is near empty. If it was fine then suddenly burnt, that is usually chain vaping and it often recovers after ten minutes.

Why is my Hayati Pro Max not working?

Check the airflow holes are not blocked, that the pod is fully seated, and that the battery has charge. If the light comes on but no vapour is produced, the pod is at fault rather than the device.
