Nic salt versus freebase

Nic salts hit smoother than freebase e-liquid at the same strength, which is why they suit pod kits and anyone moving over from cigarettes. The nicotine is absorbed faster and feels less harsh at the back of the throat, so 20mg salt is comfortable where 20mg freebase would not be.

Choosing 10mg or 20mg

20mg is the usual starting point for someone smoking a pack a day or more. 10mg suits lighter smokers, or anyone stepping down. Both strengths are the same liquid and the same flavour — only the nicotine differs, so you can move between them without changing what you like.

Salts, 50/50 and 70/30

Nic salt is not the only bottled liquid Hayati makes. The 50/50 line is 0mg shortfill in 120ml bottles, and it fits the same pod kits, the Quokka included. The 70/30 line is thicker and made for a sub-ohm tank rather than a pod — put it in a pod kit and it will struggle to wick. If you are filling a pod kit and unsure which to buy, the salt is the safer default.
